Kiawah Island to host 2008 Fall Championship! - KI08

New York, NY: Jim O'Brien, of Arizona, is spearheading the 2008 campaign for the Fall Championship. O'Brien's plan is to hold the tournament in mid-October after all the summer palooza is over.

"I'll believe it when I see it" said 2007 summer champion Jim Brill "O.B. hasn't been on tour since he won in '05 and you know the biggest obstacle for all championships is getting enough players to attend. I'll do my best to be there, and you know Murphy will be there"

Kevin Curran has mentioned to the press that he will attend the 2008 Fall Championship in Kiawah. "I'll be there" he told a Raliegh Observer reporter

"He (Curran) hasn't played a round of golf since he moved to North Carolina!" said three time Champion Jerome Murphy, "and you expect him to be there?" Murphy added

Two time summer champion Stu Milberg could not be reached for comment

Murphy Struggles at Okemo

Okemo, VT - 2006 Summer Champ Jerome Murphy is having a tough 07 Championship. "Things just are clicking for him right now" said Winter Champ Jim Brill, "he'll be back, and I need to be ready if I want to be the NE07 Champ. I just have to keep hitting F and G's and make a few putts down the stretch."

Murphy has won 3 previous Summer Champs but this year we are seeing a different side of Murphy. "he's not hitting the 100 yd lay-up shot close like he did in those years he was victorious.

Looks like Brill could win his 2nd Summer Championship this June. His first win has an asterisk on it when he tied with Curran. And this one could have an asterisk on it as well as just 3 players entered the tourney and just Brill and Murphy made the cut.
